Russia Launches Extensive Air Strikes on Ukraine, Casualties Reported

Russian forces carried out combined missile and drone strikes on Ukraine during the night of July 30. Missile debris fell in several districts of the capital, Kyiv, leading to fires, as reported by Mayor Vitali Klitschko on Telegram.

According to the Kyiv City Military Administration, one person has been killed as a result of the attacks. Explosions were also heard in Lviv, where anti-aircraft defenses were activated. Mayor Andriy Sadovyi and Maksym Kozytskyi, head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, reported that two residential buildings were damaged. Emergency services are currently working at the scene.

In Kharkiv, Mayor Ihor Terekhov stated that a Shahed-type drone struck the industrial zone in the Novobavarskyi district. No further details have been reported yet.

The Ukrainian Air Force had previously warned that the Russian side had launched ballistic and cruise missiles, strike drones, and guided bombs towards various regions of the country.

Reports from Ukrainian media indicate that explosions have also been recorded in the Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, Kryvyi Rih, and Sumy regions, as well as in Ivano-Frankivsk region.

In the village of Radushne near Kryvyi Rih, according to Mayor Oleksandr Vilkul, six people have died, including two girls aged 5 and 12. Eight others have been injured, including two boys aged 6 and 15.

On the eve of the attack, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned of a high likelihood of extensive air strikes by Russia on the night of July 30. He stated that the commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, Anatolii Kryvonizhk, had reported that the Russian side had been preparing for this attack for several days.

Zelensky emphasized the importance of partners fully understanding the situation, noting that protecting people's lives depends directly on their willingness to provide missiles for air defense. This primarily concerns the USA and countries that have missiles for Patriot air defense systems and can support their defense efforts.
