Why a Left Turn is Prohibited on Hovsep Emin Street: Clarification
The prohibition of left turns from Hovsep Emin Street to the Davtashen Bridge exit is due to the need for pedestrian and vehicle traffic safety, as well as ensuring the continuity of traffic flows. This was reported to AuraNews by the Yerevan City Hall.
“In particular, vehicles coming from the intersection of Ghulbenkian and Hovsep Emin streets and making left turns towards the bridge were obstructing vehicles moving straight and to the right at the intersection of Papazyan and Hovsep Emin streets. Additionally, due to the urgency of their maneuvers, they were not yielding to pedestrians crossing the road in permissible areas, creating a risk of pedestrian accidents. Such maneuvers frequently led to collisions as well. Left turners also caused delays on Hovsep Emin Street in both directions, which had a chain reaction effect on nearby intersections,” the statement reads.
