Good News for Police Officers Regarding Mortgage Loans
The government has approved the initiative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, allowing police officers to acquire housing or build homes through preferential mortgage loan conditions.
The Cabinet has endorsed the legislative proposal from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which enables police officers to benefit from government-sponsored housing assistance programs. The main goal of this initiative is to enhance the attractiveness of service in the police force, provide additional social guarantees, and alleviate the financial burden on employees.
These new regulations will apply to all service members within the system. Specific procedures and conditions for utilizing the program will be established by a government decision, which will outline priorities based on factors such as location of service, social situation, and other considerations.
Currently, to avoid corruption risks and conflicts of interest, assignments in police territorial divisions are made in a way that individuals serve outside their place of residence, leading to housing challenges. With the introduction of these support programs, it is expected to address the housing issues of officers while also contributing to increased work efficiency.
