Trump on Extension of Ceasefire with Iran
US President Donald Trump has announced the extension of the ceasefire regime with Iran, stating that this decision was made at the request of the leadership of Pakistan.
The relevant post was made on the night of April 22, just as the deadline for the ceasefire established on April 8 was approaching.
According to Trump, he was contacted by the commander of Pakistan's armed forces and Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, who requested to halt the attacks on Iran until their leaders and representatives could develop a unified proposal.
As per the US President, the ceasefire will remain in effect as long as the parties provide a proposal and negotiations continue. However, Trump emphasized that he has instructed the US armed forces not to lift the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz and to maintain combat readiness in all directions.
