Giorgia Meloni Responds to Vladimir Solovyov's Insults
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has publicly responded to the numerous insults directed at her by Russian television host Vladimir Solovyov. The head of the Italian government stated that her political force acts exclusively in the interests of her country and is free from external influences.
According to Meloni, unlike other politicians, they are not managed by anyone, and they do not have “masters” who can issue orders. The Prime Minister added that the only guiding principle of her actions has been and remains the national interest of Italy.
This statement followed harsh remarks made on Russian television, where Solovyov referred to Meloni as a “traitor” and used other offensive labels.
It is worth noting that the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has summoned the Russian ambassador in Italy for clarification regarding the incident. Italian officials have expressed solidarity with the Prime Minister, denouncing the host's rhetoric.
Additionally, it should be mentioned that Vladimir Solovyov is subject to EU sanctions, leading Italian authorities to previously seize his villa located on the shores of Lake Como.
