Fan Wanted for 16 Years Arrested During Olympic Games
A citizen of Slovakia, wanted since 2010, was arrested during the Winter Olympic Games held in Italy, as reported by the Daily Mail, citing local police.
According to the source, the 44-year-old man was apprehended upon his arrival in Milan to attend the Slovakia-Finland Olympic hockey match (4-1).
The request for his arrest had been issued by Italian prosecutors 16 years ago in connection with a series of theft cases from stores, for which he had been sentenced in absentia to 11 months and seven days of imprisonment.
The police tracked down and arrested the fan while he was at one of the hotels in the suburbs of Milan and took him to San Vittore Central Prison.
