Roads Temporarily Closed Due to Severe Blizzards and Lack of Visibility
As of 16:30 on February 12, all inter-state and republican significance highways in Armenia are open. This information has been reported by the Road Department.
Due to adverse weather conditions, severe blizzards, and lack of visibility, roads are being closed from time to time for traffic safety considerations. The Vardenyats Pass is closed for vehicles with trailers and is difficult to pass for other vehicles.
Light snow is falling in the regions of Ani, Artik, Akhuryan, Ashotik, Aparan, Aragats, Spitak, Abovyan, Hrazdan, Sevan, Gavar, Jambarak, and Vayk, as well as in the Vardenyats Pass.
There is a blizzard on the Alagyaz-Tzaghkadzor and Tsilkar-Rya Taza road segments. Due to severe blizzards and lack of visibility, the Ttujur-Navur highway is closed to all types of vehicles. There is fog on the highways in the Vayk region, with visibility at 60 meters.
