Georgian and Turkish Interior Ministers Discuss Turkish Air Force Cargo Plane Crash
The Georgian Minister of Internal Affairs, Georgi Gakharia, and his delegation are on an official visit to Istanbul. The Ministry of Internal Affairs has announced that during the visit, the minister had a bilateral meeting with his Turkish counterpart, Ali Yerlikaya.
“The parties discussed the partnership in law enforcement between the two countries, the prospects for deepening it, and priority areas for cooperation. Ali Yerlikaya once again thanked his Georgian counterpart for the efforts made during the crash of the Turkish Air Force cargo plane in Georgia, as well as for the swift and effective collaboration,” the statement from the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs reads.
The meeting also addressed the exchange of experience and best practices between the two sides, as well as deepening cooperation in police education. The two ministers expressed hope that through joint efforts, cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of Georgia and Turkey would further develop in the future.
In conclusion, Georgi Gakharia thanked his Turkish counterpart for the invitation, warm reception, and hospitality.
