Former Director of a Theatre in Moscow, of Azerbaijani Nationality, Arrested
Law enforcement officials have arrested the former director of one of the largest theatres in the capital, suspected of embezzling budgetary funds, reported Irina Volk, an official representative of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, as cited by TASS.
According to her, the amount of money stolen from Moscow's budget exceeds 20 million rubles.
"Employees of the Economic Security and Anti-Corruption Department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the City of Moscow, together with employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Moscow City and the Moscow Region, arrested a resident of the capital. The former director of one of the largest theatres is suspected of fraud," explained the agency representative.
According to their data, the cultural figure registered as an individual entrepreneur and entered into false copyright agreements with the theatre he managed.
It is noteworthy that the former director of the satirical theatre in Moscow is Mamed Agaev, of Azerbaijani nationality.
