Three More Representatives from Armenia Secured Their Participation in the Paris Olympic Games
Armenia currently has 15 representatives qualified for the upcoming Summer Olympic Games, which will be held in Paris from July 26 to August 11.
Swimmers Arthur Barseghyan and Varsenik Manucharyan, along with sprinter Alison Halvorson, have all secured their right to participate. They will showcase their skills in 100-meter events: Arthur in freestyle, Varsenik in butterfly, and Alison representing the Armenian athletics team in sprinting.
Triple jumper Levan Aghasyan also has the opportunity to qualify, provided he delivers a satisfactory performance at today's international ranking competition in Kapan.
It is noteworthy that following the recent European Championships in aquatic sports held in Belgrade, Arthur Barseghyan and Varsenik Manucharyan amassed the highest qualifying points, achieving scores of 825 and 734 respectively, which granted them the right to travel to Paris.
Prior to this, 12 athletes had already secured their spots for Paris 2024: shooter Elmira Karapetyan, gymnasts Arthur Davtyan (vault) and Vahagn Davtyan (rings), wrestlers Slavik Galstyan (Greco-Roman style, 67 kg), Malkhas Amoyan (Greco-Roman style, 77 kg), Arthur Aleksanyan (Greco-Roman style, 97 kg), Arsen Harutyunyan (freestyle, 57 kg), Vazgen Tevanian (65 kg), weightlifters Andranik Karapetyan (89 kg), Garik Karapetyan (102 kg), Varazdat Lalayan (+102 kg), and boxer Davit Chalayyan (+92 kg).
