The investigation revealed that Kh.S., a resident of the Spitak community, and M.T., a resident of the Jrarashen village in Spitak, regularly conducted dog fights with the intent of financial gain and in a group setting, which led to the mutilation of the fighting dogs and displayed cruel treatment towards the animals.
On August 21, 2026, the prosecutor initiated public criminal proceedings against Kh.S. under Article 307, Part 2, Clauses 1 and 4 of the Criminal Code (152 episodes), while M.T. was charged under Article 307, Part 2, Clauses 1 and 4 of the Criminal Code (116 episodes). Protective measures have been imposed on Kh.S. and M.T., prohibiting them from leaving.
