“During my journalistic career, I have worked in investigative journalism and have always been honest, and I continue to be honest,” stated Irina Yolyan, a candidate for the chair of the Permanent Commission on Territorial Administration and Environmental Protection from the “Strong Armenia” faction, in response to a question from Republican Babken Tunyan.

Addressing a question about her political beliefs, Yolyan said, “Now we are in 2026, and if you go back to my public and political stance after 2020, you will see that nothing has changed. I believe there needs to be a change of power in Armenia,” she asserted, emphasizing that she has always spoken about this in almost all her public interviews following the 2020 war.

“I have always held an opposition stance, regardless of working in local self-government, which is a self-governing independent institution, and I have dedicated my work to my community, which is why I stand here proudly today,” Yolyan added, also positively assessing the performance of the current mayor of Goris, Arush Arushanyan.
