The large hall of the Karen Demirchyan Sports Complex has been rented by Jehovah's Witnesses to hold their regional conferences. The events are taking place during a period when active discussions are occurring in the National Assembly and public sphere regarding the Armenian Apostolic Church and Catholicos Garegin II.

In this context, Aysor.am reached out to the Armenian office of Jehovah's Witnesses for clarification. The organization's public information department stated that the events at the Sports Complex are annual regional conferences that are organized every summer and are planned a long time in advance.

According to them, such conferences have been held by Jehovah's Witnesses in various countries around the world for over 130 years, including in Armenia. Participants include Jehovah's Witnesses from both Armenia and other countries.

The organization emphasized that the events are exclusively of a spiritual and educational nature. They also clarified to Aysor.am that Jehovah's Witnesses maintain neutrality on political and interfaith issues; thus, the holding of the conferences is not related to ongoing social or religious developments and discussions in Armenia.
