Medvedev's Statement is Inappropriate and Highly Aggressive, Says Alen Simonyan
I believe that the reaction mainly coming from Moscow, by Dmitry Anatolyevich Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia, is inappropriate and highly aggressive. This was stated by Alen Simonyan, Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, during a broadcast on the Dozhd TV channel.
“In no way are we planning to wage war with Russia, be it in the political, economic, or any other field. We would like our Russian partners to approach our situation with understanding because we do not intend to remain in an economic and military deadlock. We need alternatives. This is a matter of our country's existence; it is a question that does not concede to doubt. We need to find markets for ourselves. We do not intend and do not want to lose our statehood, our country, our people,” he said.
Earlier, Dmitry Medvedev had stated that the only rule applicable to the current authorities of Armenia is: “Do not throw pearls before swine.”
