My Son Is Not That Kind of Person: Hovik Abrahamyan

Former National Assembly President and ex-Prime Minister of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan has commented on the detention of his son and the charges brought against him.

"An investigation is underway; let the investigation determine the truth, and then we will know. I consider this accusation absurd, as everyone who knows and has interacted with my son understands that he is not that kind of person. As for the rest, let the investigation clarify," he stated.

Hovik Abrahamyan was also asked about the detention of his relative, Gagik Tsarukyan, and the charges against him. However, Abrahamyan reminded that Tsarukyan has already addressed these issues and did not provide any additional comments.

It should be noted that on August 8, Hovik Abrahamyan's son, former mayor of Artashat Argam Abrahamyan, was detained. According to the Investigative Committee, the murder of S.V. that occurred on April 30, 2023, on Myasnikyan Avenue in Yerevan was ordered by Abrahamyan. He has been charged with inciting a commissioned murder.
