Attempts to Interfere Will Be Brutally and Decisively Suppressed: Zakharova
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, warned that any attempt to interfere in the presidential elections of Russia will be firmly suppressed. She noted that the West views the upcoming elections as an opportunity to destabilize the situation within Russia, but that will not succeed.
“During communications, we inform our enemies and opponents that attempts to interfere in Russia’s internal affairs, including subversive actions in the context of the elections aimed at sowing absurdity and discord among our citizens, which Western NGOs maliciously carried out, will be brutally and decisively suppressed,” Zakharova said at a meeting of the Federation Council committee.
Vladimir Putin has also assured that any attempt to interfere in the Russian elections will be halted, and local IT services will play a significant role in this process. The head of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation, Ella Pamfilova, has expressed confidence that the presidential elections will be conducted honorably and that Russia will overcome any attempts to disrupt them.
The presidential elections in Russia will take place from March 15-17, 2024.
