Number of Communications Between Armenians Arrested in Azerbaijan and Their Relatives in 2023: ICRC
In 2023, due to the escalation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict, there were 660 exchanges of verbal, audio-visual, written messages, and phone calls between Armenians arrested in Azerbaijan and their relatives. This information was reported by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) on its microblog.
On February 5, the ICRC announced that they had visited former leaders of Artsakh and other detainees held in Baku. “We regularly visit the detained individuals and assist them in maintaining contact with their families,” the statement said.
