Israeli Defense Forces Confirm Ongoing Battles Near Shifa Hospital

The spokesperson for the Israeli Defense Forces, Colonel Peter Lerner, confirmed during a BBC broadcast that Israeli military units are currently operating within the vicinity of the Shifa Hospital.

"Hamas has chosen to position its terrorist forces strategically under and around hospitals. We are attempting to encourage the evacuation of people who are hiding in these locations," he stated.

Colonel Lerner added that, according to intelligence assessments, the main forces and command centers of Hamas are located in the city of Gaza.

Palestinian sources claim that hospital areas in Gaza have already come under fire.
