Four Sentenced to Up to 16 Years in Prison for State Treason in Armenia
In 2025-2026, four individuals have been sentenced for state treason in Armenia. They have received prison sentences ranging from 15 to 16 years.
The first verdict was issued on December 23, 2025, at the court in Gegharkunik Province. The convicted individual was sentenced to 15 years in prison and stripped of military rank.
On March 3, 2026, another person was sentenced to 15 years in prison for state treason in Gegharkunik Province. Following this, on March 10, a court in Syunik Province also sentenced another individual to 15 years on the same charge.
The fourth ruling was delivered on June 26 in Yerevan, where the individual found guilty of state treason was sentenced to 16 years in prison and ordered to forfeit property worth over 20,000 USD.
Thus, during 2025-2026, three of the four individuals convicted for state treason received 15 years, while one received a 16-year sentence.
