The CP Did Not Elect the Candidate of 'Strong Armenia' for the Second Time
The deputy of the 'Strong Armenia' faction, Irina Yolyan, was not elected as the chairperson of the National Assembly's Standing Committee on Territorial Administration and Environmental Protection.
Out of 102 participating deputies, 38 voted in favor of Yolyan's candidacy while 63 voted against it. The CP faction voted against Irina Yolyan's nomination.
This marks the second time that the CP has refused to elect a candidate proposed by 'Strong Armenia' for the position of chair of this committee. Previously, the ruling faction also voted against the candidacy of Davit Ghazinyan.
After the vote, Tigran Abrahamyan, the secretary of the 'Strong Armenia' faction, announced that the faction will not propose another candidate for the position of committee chair.
