Reports have circulated in the media regarding an incident that occurred at the 'Nubarashen' penitentiary facility. The Penitentiary Service has provided clarifications, stating that no inmate has been subjected to beating.

According to the Penitentiary Service, on August 25, while conducting a search in one of the cells at the 'Nubarashen' prison, officers noticed a suspicious package belonging to one of the inmates. To obstruct the search, the inmates held in the cell displayed physical resistance. One of them struck an officer in the face and threw the suspicious package into the toilet's sewer.

The Penitentiary Service indicated that physical force was applied to the inmates in accordance with the law due to acts of disobedience and violence against an officer. Simultaneously, the service denies the reports regarding the beating of inmates.

One inmate was transferred to the hospital due to pain in his leg, where a fracture was recorded. He was returned to the prison the same day. No bodily injuries were reported among the other inmates.

During the search, vials resembling liquid narcotics, 5 mobile phones, 9 subscriber cards, 3 charging devices, and pills of unknown origin were discovered from the cell's hiding places.

A report has been submitted to the investigative department of the Investigative Committee for the Erebuni and Nubarashen administrative districts regarding the incident and violence against the penitentiary officer.
