Proposal to Rename Three Ministries: Galyan
The Parliament is discussing amendments to the law on the structure and activities of the Government, as well as the package of related draft laws for first reading approval.
The main speaker, Minister of Justice Smbat Galyan, announced that the package of draft laws proposes the renaming of three ministries and a review of their functions, aimed at modernizing the public administration system to align it with the state policies implemented by the Government and the development priorities of Armenia.
"The draft proposes renaming the Ministry of High-Tech Industry to the Ministry of High-Tech Industry and Artificial Intelligence. It also suggests changing the name of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs to the Ministry of Labor and Welfare. The new name emphasizes the main objective of the state, which is not only to respond to social issues but also to improve the welfare of people and families continuously," Galyan stated.
The minister also informed that the draft suggests renaming the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade. "The purpose of this change is to more effectively combine foreign policy with economic cooperation," the Minister of Justice said.
