Ara Zograbyan Accuses Arpine Davoyan of Openly Lying About Talin Clergyman's House

“Member of Parliament Arpine Davoyan is OPENLY LYING,” stated lawyer Ara Zograbyan in response to Davoyan's recent remarks in the National Assembly.

Zograbyan wrote: “Just moments ago, MP from the Civil Contract faction, Arpine Davoyan, made the following statement: ‘Or at this very moment, I mean, yesterday, today, what has been happening over these last few days? The clergyman from Talin, Father Tadeh, is being thrown out of his house: A father of four children. The house is registered under the name of Kitrich Nersisyan… The house where Father Tadeh lives is not registered under the name of Garagin II, nor the name of the Catholicos, but under the name of Kitrich Nersisyan.’”

“MP Arpine Davoyan is OPENLY LYING. First, how do you explain to a representative of the legislative authority that the secular name of His Holiness Catholicos Garegin II Nersisyan is ‘Garegin II’ according to the State passport of the Republic of Armenia? The MP, the Prime Minister, and the other officials blatantly disregard both the spiritual order and the laws of their own country, as well as the name recognized and registered by the state.”

“Second, the apartment No. 5 at the 3rd building on Myasnikyan Street in the Talin community of the Aragatsotn region, where Aramayis Takhmazyan is living unlawfully, has belonged to the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church by ownership since 2012, and not to His Holiness Catholicos or any other physical person. The first instance general jurisdiction court of Aragatsotn region ruled on 26.08.2026 to uphold the claim of the owner, the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church, and to expel Aramayis Davit Takhmazyan and Hripsime Gagik Khachatryan from the mentioned apartment. This apartment will be provided by the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church for the family of a clergyman in need of housing.”
