Tense Situation in Downtown Yerevan: Driver Incident Ends in Arrests

At around 23:30 on August 19, an incident between drivers occurred on Yerevand Kochari Street in Yerevan. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to the police, the driver of a Mercedes, for a trivial reason related to a sound signal, violated traffic rules by overtaking and blocking the road of a Kia vehicle. Following this, displaying blatant disrespect towards society, the Mercedes driver and his passenger forcefully pulled the Kia driver out of the car, uttered insults, and inflicted blows.

A criminal case has been initiated in the investigative division of the Kentron and Norq Marash administrative districts. As a result of measures taken by the criminal police, the 30-year-old driver of the Mercedes, a resident of Tamruch street in Avan, and his 25-year-old passenger, a resident of Yerevand Kochari street, have been identified, arrested, and taken to the Central Division of the Community Police. The Mercedes has been moved to a designated area under the protection of the same department.

Public criminal prosecution has been initiated against the arrested individuals.
