Municipal Elections Kick Off in Yerevan
This morning, municipal elections are being held in the capital city of Yerevan. The doors of 475 polling stations have already opened in the city's 12 administrative districts.
Residents of Yerevan who have the right to participate in these elections can fulfill their civic duty by casting their votes for one of the nominated parties until 20:00 this evening.
About 40 representatives from Central Electoral Authorities of other countries and another 40 diplomats will monitor the elections. Live broadcasts will be available from all polling stations.
Today, 13 parties and 1 alliance will participate in the Yerevan municipal elections, including: 1 “European Party of Armenia” (candidate: Tigran Khzmalyan), 2 “Democratic Alliance” (Surat Petrosyan), 3 “Civil Contract” (Tigran Avinyan), 4 “For Social Justice” (Arman Ghukasian), 5 “Power of the Fatherland” (Nelly Harutyunyan), 6 “Public Voice” (Artak Galstyan), 7 “National Progress” (Hayk Marutyan), 8 “Victory” (Victor Mnatsakanyan), 9 “Living Land” (Mané Tandilyan), 10 “Republic” (Artak Zeynalayan), 11 “United Armenia” (Yervand Tarverdian), 12 “Just Armenia” (Norik Norikyan), 13 “Enlightened Armenia” (David Khajakyan), and 14 “Mother Armenia” alliance (including “Country of Living” and “Intellectual Armenia” parties) (Andranik Tevanyan).
