The regular operational meeting of the Yerevan municipality has commenced. Tigran Avinyan addressed the issue of individuals exploiting the pre-election situation in Yerevan, who are attempting to construct various unauthorized buildings: “During the pre-election period, there are attempts to make use of the time to construct different unauthorized buildings in the city of Yerevan. Our response must be maximally severe. Not only must this be halted, but it must also be demolished, and as quickly as possible,” emphasized Tigran Avinyan.

“In August, 31 demolition works were carried out, 8 of which were gas stations. The rooftop constructed at 39 Tumanyan Street has been completely dismantled. Currently, we are starting demolition works at 60 Arami Street,” noted Yakov Asatryan, head of the municipal construction and land control department of Yerevan.

According to Asatryan, an illegal construction was erected on June 3 at the rooftop of the building housing the Yeghishe Charents museum at 60 Arami Street. This morning, following the receipt of relevant expert data, demolition works have begun.
