Gor Sahakyan Wins Bronze Medal: Armenia Claims First Medal at Weightlifting World Championship
In the ongoing Weightlifting World Championship in Saudi Arabia, 20-year-old European champion Gor Sahakyan has won a bronze medal. This information has been confirmed by the official website of the International Weightlifting Federation.
Sahakyan recorded a total weight of 312 kg in the two-lift competition. In the snatch event, he lifted 142 kg on his third attempt, earning a silver medal in this category. In the clean and jerk event, he managed to lift 170 kg, also on his third attempt.
This marks Armenia's first medal at the current World Championship in weightlifting.
