New Developments in the Case of the Hit-and-Run Involving 7 Servicemen: Another Person Arrested

On August 19, in connection with the hit-and-run incident that occurred on the Chambarak-Vahan road, public criminal charges have been brought against another individual under the article of abuse of power or authority. This information was provided by the Investigative Committee.

The individual has been arrested and is being presented to the court. Earlier, criminal charges were also initiated against the driver of the "GAZ-53" truck, who has been detained.

Recall that on August 19, at approximately 21:20, an unregistered "GAZ-53" truck struck 7 servicemen on the road leading from Chambarak to Vahan village. Unfortunately, the life of one of them—S. Vardanyan, born in 2007 and resident of Abovyan—could not be saved.

Following the incident, the driver, Vahan Chagharyan, a resident of Vahan village, was arrested. Law enforcement has determined that the truck was not fit for operation and that the driver did not possess a driver's license.
