Anti-Corruption Committee Reveals New Details on Yesterday's Arrests
The Anti-Corruption Committee of Armenia reports that among the six individuals arrested yesterday for large-scale money laundering, abuse of official powers, and receiving especially large bribes, four have been subjected to detention as a measure of restraint, including the son of the former president. For another of the accused, house arrest has been imposed as a measure of restraint.
This information was provided to Auroranews by the Anti-Corruption Committee. Previously, it was reported that around 7:00 AM on August 25, law enforcement officers raided the home of MP Levon Kocharyan, while Robert Kocharyan was taken by investigative authorities to the Anti-Corruption Committee.
Later, it became known that both Robert Kocharyan and his eldest son, Sedrak Kocharyan, had been arrested. Additionally, early in the morning, tax authorities sealed the office of the "Toyota" company in Yerevan.
In the framework of the criminal case, investigative and procedural actions have been conducted at the "Orange Fitness" club and the "Play City" entertainment center, as well as in the residences of the directors. The Kocharyan family holds shares in these companies.
It should be noted that Nikol Pashinyan instructed law enforcement yesterday to impoverish the second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, and the third President, Serzh Sargsyan.
