Armenia Orders Indian Self-Propelled Howitzers
Armenia has conducted tests on the 155 mm/39 self-propelled MArG howitzers developed by Kalyani Strategic Systems Limited (KSSL) before placing its order for this artillery system. According to Armenpress, this was reported by the Indian Defence Research Wing (IDRW).
Officials from Kalyani Strategic Systems Limited stated that the Marg 155/39 self-propelled howitzer was developed in eight months and tested by the Indian Army in Balasore and Pokhran before it was offered to Armenia, which was seeking artillery systems to conduct military operations in mountainous areas where conflict with Azerbaijan continues, IDRW noted.
The self-propelled howitzer with the MArG 155/39 has been tested again for about 40 days in the presence of Armenian officials, and the deal was finalized at a defense exhibition after it met all firing standards set by the Armenian army.
