U.S. Administration Has No Plans to Supply Ukraine with American F-16 Fighters
The U.S. administration has no plans to supply Ukraine with American F-16 fighters. This was announced by President Joe Biden while responding to reporters' questions in the White House grounds.
When asked whether Washington intends to send F-16 aircraft to Kyiv, Biden's response was simply, "No," as quoted by the White House Press Office.
It is noteworthy that last week, U.S. authorities announced their intention to transfer 31 M1 Abrams tanks to Kyiv.
Meanwhile, the German government has confirmed that it will send 14 Leopard 2 tanks from its armed forces' reserves to Ukraine and will grant permits for re-export to other countries.
Plans to transfer tanks to Ukraine have also been reported from Great Britain, Norway, Poland, Slovakia, and France. Following this, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky insisted that Ukraine needs to "expand cooperation" and receive long-range missiles and combat aircraft from Western countries.
