Five More Patients Transferred from Artsakh to Armenia, One is Pregnant
The Information Center of Artsakh reports that five more patients have been transferred to Armenia today with the mediation of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
Due to the blockade of the only road connecting Artsakh to Armenia by Azerbaijan, five patients from the 'Republican Medical Center' of the Artsakh Ministry of Health, diagnosed with 'condition after kidney transplantation, small left kidney, periodic illness', 'Pregnancy VII, 19-20 weeks, high risk of 21, 18, 13 chromosomal trisomy', 'Left breast cancer', 'Left lung cancer', and 'Condition after blast injury, postoperative anophthalmia, integrated implant infection, rejection', have been transferred to various specialized medical centers in Armenia with the mediation and escort of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
Due to the blockade of the only road connecting Artsakh to Armenia, planned surgeries continue to be suspended in healthcare facilities operating under the jurisdiction of the Artsakh Ministry of Health. In the 'Arevik' medical unit, 12 children are in the neonatal and resuscitation departments. In the 'Republican Medical Center', 11 patients are in resuscitation, five of whom are in extremely critical condition. Efforts are being made by doctors to stabilize the conditions of the patients.
To date, a total of 24 patients have been transferred from Artsakh to Armenia with the mediation and escort of the International Committee of the Red Cross, the information center notes.
