Government Allocates Funds for 'North-South' Project
The Armenian government has made a decision to internally redistribute 1 billion 174 million drams in the state budget for the implementation of necessary contractual and financial obligations for various sections of the 'North-South' road corridor.
This decision was made during a regular meeting of the government on August 27.
David Khudatyan, the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, noted that the project proposes an internal redistribution of 1 billion 174 million drams for fulfilling contractual and financing obligations in different sections of the 'North-South' road corridor.
“In particular, this is regarding payments for 5 percent of the final amount of construction works, payment for the services of the technical supervisor, compensation payments to owners of land declared as public interest, reimbursement of project management costs, restoration of the M-6 interstate road, reconstruction of the Pushkin Tunnel, and payments for design works for the construction of a new tunnel in Dilijan,” the minister explained.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that a section of the 'North-South' road, which pertains to the Ashtarak-Gyumri stretch, has been commissioned for operation, and this decision will facilitate payments for the construction that has been carried out.
“I am pleased to note that construction in the Kajaran-Agarak section is progressing at a very good pace. The works on the Kajaran tunnel are also progressing well, and in the broader context of regional and international developments, the implementation of these projects is very timely and appropriate,” said the Prime Minister.
