Lawyers Request to Terminate Criminal Case Against Robert Kocharian
Lawyers have submitted a motion to terminate the criminal case initiated against former President Robert Kocharian of Armenia. During the court session, lawyer Aram Orbelian stated that the former president is charged under Armenia's old Criminal Code, which came into effect on August 1, 2003, and was repealed on July 1, 2022.
It is noteworthy that former President Robert Kocharian and former Deputy Prime Minister Armen Gevorgian are both defendants in the same criminal case. Kocharian is accused of receiving particularly large bribes, while Gevorgian is charged with money laundering.
