Putin Presents His Position to Charles Michel
Russian President Vladimir Putin has presented the Russian Federation's position on the special military operation for the defense of the Donbass republics to European Council President Charles Michel. This information was reported by the Kremlin’s press service.
According to the statement, Putin emphasized in his conversation with Michel that Russian military forces are taking all possible measures to protect the lives of civilians in Ukraine.
The Russian President noted that the main threat in Ukraine arises from nationalists who are employing terrorist tactics by hiding behind peaceful residents. He urged the EU to make a genuine contribution to saving people, pressuring Kyiv to respect humanitarian law.
As a reminder, early in the morning on February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the decision to initiate a military special operation against Ukraine. The impetus was the request for help from the LPR and DPR. The first round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine took place on February 28 in the Gomel region of Belarus, while the second round occurred on March 3 in the Brest region. The third round is scheduled for today.
