Zelensky Announces Escalation of Situation in Donbas

The President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, announced that he has personally witnessed the escalation of the situation in the Donbas region during his recent visit to the area. According to Armenpress, the Ukrainian presidential press service reported that he arrived in Donbas, where he will visit the frontline and interact with military personnel. The visit comes amidst heightened tensions along the contact line.

“Indeed, there is an escalation of the situation in the Donbas; we clearly see it, and so do the soldiers and commanders. I understand that our servicemen are being targeted by snipers,” Zelensky stated in an interview with Ukraina 24.

The deputy head of the Russian presidential administration, Dmitry Kozak, claimed that he does not see a connection between Zelensky's visit to Donbas and the escalating situation in the region.
