Tourist Group Caught in Avalanche in Murmansk Region

A tourist group was caught in an avalanche in the Murmansk region of the Russian Federation while on an unapproved tourism route.

According to reports from Armenpress, citing RIA Novosti, preliminary information indicates that there are injured individuals, as stated by the regional investigative committee.

"Information has been received at the Murmansk regional investigative department that a tourist group was caught in an avalanche near the 'Imandra' station. According to preliminary information, there are injuries as a result of the incident," the statement read.

The agency has noted that investigators and forensic experts from the Russian Investigative Committee have arrived at the scene.

"There may be minors among the injured," the Investigative Committee added.
