Fire Breaks Out on Second Floor of Avan Plaza Hotel, One Injured
On February 25, at 22:17, the Crisis Management National Center received a report about a fire on the second floor of the Avan Plaza Hotel located on Gayi Street in Yerevan.
Responding to the incident, six firefighting teams were dispatched under a Level 2 alarm from the Emergency Management Agency of Armenia. The teams included special rescue units, operational teams from the National Center for Crisis Management, and medical support staff, along with a psychologist from the Psychological Support Department.
A "1 BIS" alarm level was declared for the complexity of the fire. It was determined that the fire originated in the area of the bathroom on the second floor of the hotel.
The fire was contained by 22:44 and extinguished by 22:50. A total of 15 square meters of structural elements in the bathroom were burned, along with 20 square meters of ceiling from the adjacent hall, and 30 square meters suffered thermal damage, partially affecting the hall's furnishings.
Firefighters rescued four individuals from the hotel. One injured person was hospitalized at the National Burn Center.
