Russian tennis player Margarita Gasparyan has kicked off the tournament in Istanbul with a victory. In the first round, the Armenian athlete outperformed her Turkish competitor, Perma Azgen, in two sets with scores of 6:2, 6:0. The match lasted 1 hour and 4 minutes.

In the second round, Gasparyan's opponent will be Sweden's Rebecca Peterson.

It is worth noting that Margarita Gasparyan recently participated in the US Open, where she was eliminated in the second round after losing to the world’s eighth-ranked player, Serena Williams, with scores of 2:6, 4:6.
