Armenian Wrestlers Struggling at the World Championships in Bucharest

At the ongoing U23 World Championships in Bucharest, Armenian wrestlers have thus far faced challenges in their performance. On the first day of competitions, four representatives from Armenia took to the mat.

57 kg competitor Razmik Misakyan, 65 kg wrestler Vazgen Tevanyan, and 70 kg player Arman Andreasian all suffered defeats in their initial matches. The only victory came from 79 kg wrestler Arman Avagyan, who won his main bout but was then eliminated in the quarter-finals.

None of the wrestlers who defeated our athletes advanced to the finals, meaning Armenian wrestlers will not have the opportunity to compete for bronze medals. Today, five more Armenian wrestlers will take to the mat, including European champion Arsen Harutyunyan.
