Weightlifter Samvel Gasparyan Becomes European Champion Among U23

In the capital of Romania, Bucharest, Armenian athletes continue to shine at the European Youth Weightlifting Championships. According to Armsport, on the latest competitive day, 109 kg weight category competitor Samvel Gasparyan was declared the European champion among U23 athletes with a total lift of 390 kg.

Gasparyan successfully lifted 176 kg in the snatch, earning a silver medal, and secured a gold medal in the clean and jerk category by lifting 214 kg above his head.

It is worth noting that Gasparyan recently won a bronze medal at the World Championships in Kazakhstan and became a silver medalist at the senior European Championships held in Batumi in the spring.
