VIDEO: The Opposition Has Noticed That There Is a People in Armenia Who Bear Power, Says Sona Ghazaryan

For the fourth day, the newly formed parliament is discussing the candidacy of Mr. Vardevanyan as the deputy speaker from the opposition. Ms. Ghazaryan stated in her speech at the parliament: “Mr. Vardevanyan, there has been significant progress on the part of the opposition, in my humble opinion, because I could not help but notice that from the beginning of your speech to the end of your address, you were justifying the so-called Turkish-Azerbaijani tandem’s establishment of power in Armenia, and you want to be the deputy speaker.”

According to her, Vardevanyan was making considerable efforts for this, but she wants him to understand that this indicates that the opposition is finally realizing that there is a people in Armenia who bears power and is the only subject that forms power.

“This is great progress because when I recall 2021, when you were there trying to compel the ruling faction—us—to choose Vazgen Manukyan, you did not notice at all that there is a people. Now you see that there is a people, to whom you promised to form a majority, but you failed and are now justifying yourselves,” Ghazaryan said to Vardevanyan. She also noted that Vardevanyan probably has not seen the reel by the leader of the ‘Strong Armenia’ faction, Narek Karapetyan, about 300 thousand Azerbaijanis; otherwise, he would have spoken about existential threats in his speech.
