Sports Arbitration Court Halts Boxing Federation Case Against Armenian National Olympic Committee
The Sports Arbitration Court of Lausanne has stopped the case of the Armenian Boxing Federation against the Armenian National Olympic Committee (ANOC). This has been reported by the ANOC.
The Armenian Boxing Federation filed a complaint against the ANOC on August 15, 2019, regarding the decision made by the ANOC assembly to suspend the Boxing Federation’s membership. In connection with this, the Lausanne Sports Arbitration Court (CAS) initiated proceedings on August 21.
On September 26, 2019, the CAS informed the complainant (the Boxing Federation) that it had not yet received the appeal summary and, therefore, urged it to submit a summary of the appeal by October 3 as evidence.
Since the deadline for the complainant to submit the summary of the appeal expired on October 3, the court annulled the appeal considering that no appeal documentation was submitted, no responses were received, and no commission was formed.
The CAS announced that the process between the Armenian Boxing Federation and the Armenian National Olympic Committee has been halted due to lack of sufficient grounds.
