Heavy Rain, Hail, and Strong Winds: Weather to Change Significantly
On August 7 during the day and on August 8, dry weather is expected. In the evening hours of August 9, as well as during the night and afternoon of August 10-12, short-term rain and thunderstorms will be observed in most regions.
From August 9-11, heavy precipitation is anticipated in certain areas, and hail is also possible. The wind will blow from the northeast and east at a speed of 4-7 m/s, with expected gusts of 20-25 m/s during thunderstorms.
From August 7-12, in the Armavir region, as well as in the foothill areas of Aragatsotn and Kotayk, and in individual parts of Shirak, wind intensification of 17-20 m/s is expected in the evening hours.
The daytime air temperature will decrease by 3-5 degrees on August 10-11.
In Yerevan, there will be dry weather on August 7 during the day, and also on the 8th and the 12th. On the evening of August 9, as well as during the night and evening of the 10th and 11th, brief rain and thunderstorms are predicted, during which wind speeds may increase to 18-23 m/s.
During the evenings of August 7-12, wind intensification of 15-18 m/s is expected.
According to long-term climatic data for Yerevan on August 8, the maximum air temperature was recorded in 2017 (40.7°C), the minimum in 1981 (13.4°C), while the daily average temperature was 26.2°C.
