Contract Soldier Dies, Ministry of Defense Confirms
A 37-year-old soldier has died in Sisian, with the Ministry of Defense providing details to Aurora News.
In a conversation with Aurora News, Aram Torosyan, the press secretary of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, confirmed the news of the soldier's death.
"According to preliminary data, the 37-year-old soldier died from causes unrelated to his service," the spokesperson stated.
According to Torosyan, a criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident, and the circumstances of the death are under investigation.
It is worth noting that earlier reports circulated in the media suggesting that a contract soldier was found dead near one of the military units in Sisian. Preliminary hypotheses indicated that the soldier may have committed suicide. The publication also mentioned that the 37-year-old soldier's wife is pregnant, and the incident occurred around noon.
