Body Found Near Parents' Grave Alongside Gun and Note

On August 6, around 11:00 PM, the Criminal Police Department of the Shirak Province of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs received operational information about the presence of a corpse in the cemetery of the village of Jrarat. The operational information was confirmed by criminal police officers who arrived at the scene, led by acting department head Artur Fishyan.

A duty group of doctors from the Republican Emergency Medical Service’s Gyumri branch recorded the death of a man at the scene. The criminal police discovered the body of a 70-year-old resident of Shirak Province, Samvel A., near the graves, alongside a firearm.

Information about the situation was reported to the Shirak Provincial Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee. An investigative team arrived at the scene, headed by department head Sahak Mkrtchyan, his deputy Narek Gareginyan, and the day's responsible investigator.

A criminal case has been initiated, and a forensic examination of the corpse has been assigned. The Investigative Committee informed auroranews.am that the case was initiated on the grounds of incitement to suicide and illegal circulation of firearms.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the body was found near the graves of the deceased's parents. A note was also discovered at the scene, which stated: “Do not enter, do not touch anything, call the police at 02.”
