Criminal Proceedings Against Chief Accountant of Ararat Diocese Terminated, Lawyer Reports

The public criminal proceedings initiated against Naira Alaverdyan, the chief accountant of the Holy Armenian Apostolic Church's Ararat Diocese, have been terminated on exculpatory grounds. This information was shared by lawyer Marine Farmanyan.

She stated: “Disgraced individuals, Stepan Asatryan and Aramayis Takhmazyan, provided false testimonies during the preliminary investigation, accusing our client of embezzling millions of drams. Specifically, Aramayis Takhmazyan even insisted during confrontation that the funds due to him from the Diocese and the Mother See had not been paid for about five years and that this act was committed through my client and lawyer Vahagn Keshishyan’s client. HOWEVER, THIS LIAR WAS EXPOSED.

The investigative body spent 10 months examining 1262 bank transactions tied to Aramayis Takhmazyan and his wife (who also rendered untrue testimony) and concluded in the decision to terminate the proceedings that the Diocese and the Mother See had paid these individuals their funds cash by cash.

After being exposed, Aramayis Takhmazyan claimed that he had a misunderstanding regarding the recollection of this incident and, due to lack of focus, he did not properly grasp the moments when he was to receive millions from the Mother Church and the Diocese...

The investigative body noted that the accusation could not be based on Takhmazyan's memory limitations. Aramayis Takhmazyan, please drink sugar water in the mornings to improve your memory, so that innocent people are not unlawfully detained because of you.

Due to this monstrous lie, our client Naira Alaverdyan has suffered illegal detention for months, acquired health issues, and faced financial losses. Naira’s mother, unable to withstand the unlawful actions against her daughter, passed away months ago from anguish and exacerbated illness, never witnessing her daughter's vindication. The time will come for all the guilty to answer before God and the law.
