Health Committee Chairperson: One Doesn’t Need to be a Pulmonologist
The newly elected chairperson of the National Assembly's Health Committee, Lusine Badalyan, responded to questions from reporters regarding critiques that she lacks professional knowledge in the healthcare sector.
"So, should I be an endocrinologist or a pulmonologist? The chairperson of the Health Committee coordinates the work of the committee members and organizes meetings, and for that, for example, there is no need to be a pulmonologist," Badalyan stated.
She also addressed the issue of how she feels about incidents where elderly individuals are forcibly detained. "By nature, regardless of whether we are talking about opposition members or even those who hurt me, I find such situations very difficult to bear," Badalyan said, adding that while she does not wish to interfere with law enforcement's work, she speaks out with criticism when necessary.
