Instagram Changes Logo for the First Time in 10 Years
Meta-owned Instagram has officially unveiled its new logo. This marks the first change to the logo in the last decade, and it has already drawn some mockery from users. "The wordmark logo at the top of the app hasn't changed in 10 years, so it was time to refresh it," wrote Instagram head Adam Mosseri in a post on the platform. "Cleaner and more modern, with references to the original version, as well as the simplicity and craftsmanship that have always characterized Instagram."
Instagram users immediately noticed that the newly designed letter 'r' can easily be confused with other letters, such as 'z' or 'u.' Additionally, some users pointed out that the letter 's' resembles the letter 'a.' The multicolored Instagram icon featuring an abstract camera image remains unchanged. As for the previous handwritten style wordmark, it will also be retained in its former appearance.
