He has been charged under Article 426, Part 1 of the Criminal Code (publishing information containing state secrets obtained illegally) and Article 427, Part 1 (inciting the publication of information containing state secrets).
Edik Maloyan is also known as a supporter of the 'Strong Armenia' party.
